The group is also launching a digital ad highlighting that the bill “means good-paying jobs for hard-working families.”
The negative ads focus on environmental activists Al Gedicks and Laura Gauger.
The ad targeting Gedicks notes he was convicted of attempted arson and possession of a firearm after a 1970 arrest at the Army ROTC building on the UW-Madison campus. The ad shows a photo of Gedicks and says “when your argument cannot win – is violence your answer?”
The ad going after Gauguer calls her an “out-of-state pharmacist” who lost a lawsuit over the Flambeau mine and then raised money to help her pay for the legal fees.
“Now she wants to keep jobs from northern Wisconsin,” the ad says.
